Free Web Conferencing

Web conferencing is a good concept in theory. Industry experts are saying that the projected cost of air travel for a company will be greatly reduced by adopting a web conferencing system which allows employees to maintain collaboration and communication in-house. But despite these advantages, some companies are not taking to web conferencing as many would like us to believe. This is because the technology is still quite new and like all new development, the interface currently being sold in the market now are either frustratingly complicated to set up or include only the barest of essentials. And when indeed there is an application that looks like it’s going to do the job, its price makes it still out of reach of the average Joe or the average small business.

So, how can one take advantage of this so-called revolutionary technology if you can’t even afford to buy it? The answer? Free web conferencing.

ActiveTouch Free Web Conferencing Service

ActiveTouch, a firm that develops and operates business meetings over the World Wide Web, has recently announced a service that is not only affordable but just downright free. This free web conferencing service that ActiveTouch offers allows real time visual and verbal interaction over the Internet with only a computer, a browser, and a telephone system.

Itself collaborating with web conferencing pioneer WebEx, ActiveTouch hopes to make the free web conferencing service as ubiquitous and omnipresent as electronic mail. The company says that the free web conferencing application requires only an ordinary browser and telephone to make it work for you. And once you get connected, you can instantly and spontaneously share documents, presentations, web content, and applications on the Internet but with the sense of being face-to-face.

“WebEx represents a giant leap forward for the Web by offering the most powerful real time interactivity services for free,” ActiveTouch CEO Subrah Iyar said in a statement. “We want everyone with a browser to be able to use it – at work and at home.”

Free Web Conferencing: Revolutionizing Electronic Data Transmissions

The free web conferencing service, and some analysts are wont to agree, seems to represent the catalytic spark that will revolutionize communication and transmission of data. In this regard, this free web conferencing service by ActiveTouch will change how electronic data is sent over the Net in much the same way as the telephone revolutionized communications.

“ActiveTouch’s new WebEx Meeting Center provides what is perhaps the final key missing element to making te Internet a truly useful medium for real time interaction and information exchange,’ said Stephen Hendrick, vice president of application development tools research at International Data Corporation (IDC).

The WebEx Meeting Center free web conferencing service allows up to six people to participate in a browser-based web conference.
